Meet Steve Hazelwood
Regional Sales Manager
Steve Hazelwood is without doubt the most charismatic member of our
Customer Service team, and is currently responsible for the South and
Midwest territories and all Folletts accounts. Always capable of bringing
out smiles and fresh approaches to situations, Steve strikes a great
balance between professionalism and keeping things lively. Steve started
with O'Reilly last year when he moved to California from Oklahoma, where he
previously worked for America Online (AOL) and was also a volunteer fireman
for the Forest Park Fire Department. As a fireman, one of Steve's most
memorable calls was rescuing a skunk from a rental storage unit!
Among his peers, Steve is known as an excellent backup. Besides his current
South & Midwest territories, in the past year he's also taken care of the
Canadian and Western U.S. regions, processed returns, and he's currently
the intranet webmaster for the Customer Service Department.
On a personal level, Steve can be found water-skiing on Lake Sonoma, wine
tasting throughout the beautiful Sonoma-Napa wine country, dancing at local
nightspots, and of course reading O'Reilly books! The women he's met so far
in California have been a bit too crazy for his liking, but he's holding
out hope that he'll meet that one special girl soon. To know Steve is to
hear all about his latest adventures. He also likes to spend lots of time
with his pit bull Happy. "Happy lives up to his name. He doesn't have a
mean bone in his body and loves to go to the lake. He has been known to
ride (across the lake) on an inner tube, but his favorite pastime is
finding the biggest stick or chasing tennis balls. I built him a tennis
ball cannon, but he didn't like it. They were being shot too far." And his
kinship with Tim the Tool Man Taylor doesn't stop there. He also builds
radio-controlled cars with speeds up to 65 mph, and races them through the
parking lots of O'Reilly's new offices.
Whether it's his hard work or his creativity, we all value Steve's
contributions to the O'Reilly family.
